Do you love classic cars and want to learn how high-quality automotive finishes are created? That’s Minor Customs is looking for a motivated Entry-Level Painter’s Helper / Refinish Apprentice who is ready to learn through hands-on, on-the-job training.
No prior professional painting experience is required. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, pays close attention to detail, and wants to develop a career in automotive refinishing.
We’re a friendly, close-knit team specializing in premium, collector-quality classic, vintage, and muscle cars. Our shop stands above the rest because we hold ourselves to a high standard of craftsmanship—and we have a lot of fun doing what we love.

What You’ll Learn and Do
- Assist experienced painters and body technicians with vehicle preparation
- Clean, sand, scuff, and prepare surfaces for primer and paint
- Mask vehicles, parts, trim, glass, and surrounding areas
- Assist with applying primers, sealers, and other refinishing materials
- Learn proper block-sanding and surface-preparation techniques
- Identify surface imperfections and help prepare them for correction
- Help mix and organize refinishing materials under supervision
- Learn proper spray-booth preparation and cleanup procedures
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area
- Follow all shop safety procedures and correctly use personal protective equipment
- Work carefully around valuable and one-of-a-kind vehicles
- Complete assigned training and continue developing automotive-refinishing skills
