Do you love classic cars and want to turn that passion into a career? That’s Minor Customs is looking for a motivated Apprentice Mechanic who is ready to learn the trade through hands-on, on-the-job training.
No prior professional automotive experience is required. We’re looking for someone who has mechanical ability, enjoys working with their hands, and is eager to learn from experienced professionals.
We’re a friendly, close-knit team specializing in premium, collector-quality classic, vintage, and muscle cars. Our shop stands above the rest because we hold ourselves to a high standard of craftsmanship—and we have a lot of fun doing what we love.

What You’ll Learn and Do
- Assist experienced mechanics with vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Learn to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
- Help repair brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, fuel, and electrical systems
- Gain experience with engines, transmissions, and drivetrains
- Assist with installing aftermarket parts and performance upgrades
- Learn how older vehicle systems, carburetors, and wiring operate
- Use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely
- Document completed work and communicate repair needs
- Keep tools, work areas, and customer vehicles clean and organized
- Work carefully around valuable and one-of-a-kind vehicles
- Complete assigned training and work toward State of Michigan mechanic certification
