Automotive Diagnostic Validation Technician
Location: Allen Park, MI
Pay: $27.04+ per hour
We are seeking an Automotive Diagnostic Validation Technician to support the testing and validation of advanced vehicle diagnostic and remote service technologies. This hands-on contract role is ideal for automotive technicians with strong diagnostic skills who enjoy troubleshooting, testing vehicle systems, and collaborating with engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Perform vehicle-based validation testing in a garage and testing environment
Verify diagnostic software functionality and ensure vehicle systems operate as designed
Support over-the-air (OTA) software update validation and recovery testing
Execute remote diagnostic test procedures and accurately document results
Work closely with engineers to identify issues, provide technical feedback, and improve diagnostic tools
Record test results, observations, and troubleshooting data in designated systems
Follow all garage safety procedures and testing protocols
Participate in team-based validation activities involving multiple test vehicles
Qualifications
Automotive diagnostic and repair experience
Ability to interpret diagnostic information and communicate findings to engineering teams
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience working with vehicle diagnostic tools and test equipment
Ability to follow detailed test procedures and document results accurately
Willingness to work onsite full-time in a garage environment
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software and vehicle service tools
Experience using oscilloscopes, DVOMs (Digital Volt/Ohm Meters), fuel system testing equipment, and other automotive diagnostic tools
Knowledge of vehicle electrical, software, and communication systems
