The Department of Film, Television, and Media at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position to teach in the screenwriting field to begin August 25, 2027. This is a university year appointment and will be at the level of Associate Professor, with tenure.
The successful candidate will teach upper-level screenwriting courses and electives, direct the Screenwriting Program, maintain an active record of writing and production, and contribute to the self-governance of the Department and the College.
- MFA or equivalent
- Strong record of produced and optioned work
- Extensive teaching experience at a major university
- Evidence of leadership experience
- Demonstrated commitment to program building/fundraising
