Part-time position working closely with the Dental Assisting Instructor and students to carry out the accountabilities and services provided in the Dental Lab.
Examples of Duties
- Assists the lead instructor.
- Assists students in correct usage of electronic media and procedure specific equipment.
- Provides learning activities to students under the supervision of the lead instructor.
- Prepares simulation scenario stations as needed following specific course objectives.
- Demonstrates competent usage of dental office equipment.
- Observes and supervises return demonstration of clinical skills by the students.
- Assesses student academic achievement.
- Identifies remediation needs of students; provides remediation for clinical skills as directed.
- Maintains competency in clinical skills.
- Participates in the development and implementation of departmental objectives, policies, procedures and standards; recommends changes to departmental procedures as necessary.
- Works collaboratively with Dental Assisting Instructor, administrators, and program staff.
- Supports and serves as a role model for the mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives of the College. Adheres to the organizations policies and procedures and compliance guidelines.
- Perform other tasks and duties as may be assigned.
- Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act),a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College’s Clery Compliance Officer. This information may be disclosed to them directly, through third-party, or witnessed. As a CSA, you are required to complete annual training which is provided by the College. This training encompasses your role, responsibilities, and reporting obligations.

Typical Qualifications
Education, Certification, Licensure:
- Minimum of certification in Dental Assistant program required, or equivalent work experience in the dental field.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience in dental practice preferred.
- Previous clinical or classroom teaching experience preferred.
