Summary:
The Business Manager is responsible for the financial operations of the Robert B. Annis Water Resources Institute (AWRI) and serves as a member of its administrative team. The position oversees financial planning, budgeting, purchasing, contracts, invoicing, and staff hiring and contract management while supporting the Institute's operational and long-term financial sustainability.
Salary/Benefits:

Primary Duties:

Develop and implement long-term financial plans and operational processes.

Manage contributed and earned revenues.

Develop and manage institutional budgets.
-
Manage endowments and gifts, including accounting and reporting.
-
Develop and manage grant budgets, reporting, and compliance.
-
Handle contract development, execution, and invoicing.
-
Process purchase orders, invoices, and requisitions.
-
Review expense reimbursements and purchasing.
-
Coordinate expense card reconciliation.
-
Manage staff hiring and contracts.
-
Prepare monthly financial reports for the Executive Director.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.

3+ years of accounting or finance experience.

Strong financial management experience using spreadsheet and database applications.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

High standards of work quality and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:

Federal and/or State grants management experience.

Audit experience.
-
Grant Management Certification.

CPA credentials.

University finance experience.

Contract management experience.
