Production Trainer 2nd Shift
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Production Trainer to join our team at our pork processing facility. The Production Trainer will be responsible for delivering hands-on training to new and existing employees in production areas, ensuring team members understand and meet operational, safety, and quality requirements. This role plays a critical part in building a skilled and confident workforce to support production efficiency and in compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-the-job training for new hires in various production roles (cut, harvest, packaging, etc.).
- Reinforce safety, GMP, production and USDA compliance policies.
- Track, document and meticulously monitor trainee progress and provide feedback to supervisors and Training Department Supervision.
- Partners with departments lead to identify and rectify training needs and skill gaps.
- Maintain and properly file accurate training records, checklists, and reports.
- Serve as a role model for safe and effective production practices.
- Translate and assist non-English-speaking team members.
- Support retraining efforts when SOPs, equipment, or processes change.
- Ensure training materials and signage are up to date and accessible.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve onboarding and retention.
- Cross train as needed.
- Support the department and new hires with any training-related concerns.
- All employees are expected to adhere to their scheduled working hours and attend work consistently to ensure smooth operation and effective teamwork.
- Must know and be able to perform all jobs in one or more complete area(s) on the cold/hot side production floor.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in training or leadership is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using training tools and basic computer software such Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Willing to be cross trained in various departments and adjust work schedules as required.
- Must be bilingual able to read and write in English, Spanish, French or Creole.

Work Environment
This position is performed in a production environment where team members may be exposed to cold, heat, humidity, outdoor conditions, dust, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level may be loud, and hearing protection is required. Team members must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment while working in these conditions.
Physical Demand
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Team members must be able to stand and walk for long periods, lift objects up to 50 lbs., and perform strenuous physical work in a production setting. The role may require lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, bending, twisting, repetitive movement, and the use of abdominal and lower back muscles for support. Good manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination, quick arm and leg movement, stamina, and vision are required.

This manufacturing position offers a competitive hourly wage of $23.83 for the second shift.
