JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing workshops on early childhood education at SVSU partner schools in the People’s Republic of China.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE:

Travel to the People’s Republic of China to live and teach workshops on early childhood education for periods of 4 to 8 weeks in Spring semester (March, April, May, and/or June) or in Fall semester (end of August, September, October, November, and/or December).

Teach SVSU curriculum in classrooms of approximately 50 students for 12 to 24 hours per week.

Participate in training on how to teach SVSU approved curriculum on early childhood education.

Provide appropriate grading and assessment to classes.

Provide administrative support, as required, for the Office of International office.

Provide training support for other Fellows teaching classes or preparing to teach classes at Changchun Normal University.

Serve as an ambassador from SVSU to students, faculty, and staff at Changchun Normal University.

Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
General supervision is received from the Dean of the College of Education.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: This position will not supervise any other positions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

Must be able to independently live and work in China for periods ranging from 4 to 8 weeks during scheduled workshops

Must be able to write and speak English fluently

Must be able to work very well with people of diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds

Experience and ability to positively interact with all members of the campus community

Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.
