Requirements

High school diploma or GED
-
Current Michigan CNA Registry or completion of an approved Nurse Aide Training program (certification required within 4 months of hire)

BLS certification within 6 months of hire

Experience in long-term care or geriatrics preferred
-
PCAs may be considered during a temporary exception; pursuing CNA certification is encouraged

Key Responsibilities

Review care plans with nursing staff at the start of each shift
-
Assist residents with activities of daily living including eating, bathing, dressing, and mobility
-
Respond to call lights and assess resident needs
-
Record vital signs and document patient information
-
Turn and reposition residents for comfort and pressure relief

Communicate resident status and interventions to nursing staff
-
Provide customer service to residents, families, and visitors

Serve meals and assist with feeding
-
Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and change linens

Document care in the electronic medical record
Working Requirements

Basic computer skills

Ability to interpret data and communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier tasks as needed
