This position is responsible for the maintenance of the automotive labs for cleaning and organizing shop areas, as well as stocking supplies, tools, and safety equipment.
Examples of Duties
- Clean and organize labs.
- Maintain shop safety, dispensing safety glasses and appropriate shop apparel.
- Maintain security of equipment and tools throughout the process of checking equipment out and in to students, staff, and instructors.
- Maintain, repair, clean, and verify the safe use and condition of all equipment and tools.
- Procure, organize, secure, maintain inventory, and provide safe storage of all lab supplies.
- Clean and maintain the condition of lab vehicles.
- Assist instructors with preparation for course labs, including student stations, vehicles, tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Devise, revise, and/or improvise lab tools and equipment as needed.
- Assist with the development and revision of lab practices.
- Collaborate with the AMS Lead Faculty and Instructors for the review, selection, and ordering of course tools, equipment, and materials.
- Implement competency-based objectives and outcome measures for program and courses taught.
- Maintain and report appropriate lab records (e.g., inventory, MSDS, etc.).
- Maintain all required certifications and professional development as required by the College.
- Work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and staff.
- Maintain and request updates for classroom/lab equipment and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead AMS Faculty and/or the Dean of Occupational Studies.

Typical Qualifications
Education, Certification, Licensure:
- Associate degree in Automotive Services preferred.
Experience:
- Two years of work experience in automotive repair industry preferred.

- Must have basic computer skills.
- Ability to maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Leadership abilities appropriate for guidance and supervision of other department employees and student workers.
- Ability to maintain good work relations with fellow employees and students.
