Gogebic Community College is seeking qualified candidates for adjunct faculty positions to teach in many areas within GCC. These positions report to the Vice President of Academic Services. The courses may be taught in person, online, or offered as hybrid models and could be at the Ironwood or Houghton locations.
Immediate needs are in Statistics and English.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- In most cases, the classes are fully developed, and teaching materials are available. They include syllabi, tests, PowerPoints, instructional videos, and labs.
- Select, develop, and revise course materials as necessary.
- Adhere to the college’s academic schedule and requirements for syllabi submissions, early student updates, grade due dates, student office hours, and other relevant deadlines and dates.
- Keep students informed regarding course requirements, evaluation measures, and attendance policies.
- Work effectively with other faculty and staff.
- Ability to use computer-supported enrollment and student tracking systems. (e.g., Moodle)
- Attendance at semester Welcome Back Week updates and meetings as recommended.
Required Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in the area of study that will be taught.
