Edustaff in partnership with Cornerstone University is seeking a full-time Dinner Cook & Closing Supervisor. This is an in-person position on Cornerstone University’s main campus at 1001 East Beltline Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525. Candidates will be employed by Edustaff who oversees your pay. Cornerstone University is the worksite and provides supervision.
Summary:
The Dinner Cook & Closing Supervisor is responsible for preparing quality meals and properly supervising the closing of the Front of the House and kitchen. This position requires cross-training, flexible work hours including the weekend, being responsible and possessing time management skills. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare quality meals while preventing food waste.
- Follow established recipes and able to use a computer to access recipe database.
- Regularly give feedback to chef on recipes and how students feel about menu items.
- Verify all food prepared match allergen labeling displayed in the Front of the House.
- Models and communicates proper food safety techniques.
- Properly maintain all food logs and production notes.
- Train and develop student workers.
- Oversee student workers in both the front and back of house.
- Verify all stations in the Front of the House and Back of the House have been properly cleaned and closed. All equipment properly shut down. All doors, coolers, and freezers should be properly locked.
- Ability to cross train throughout Food Service.
- Maintain set standards of quality and safety.
- Ability to handle pressure, multi-tasking, and some weekend hours.
- Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.
- May require extended working hours at times.
- All Cornerstone University and WCSG employees will regularly interact with students in a variety of projects, activities, and settings. As such all employees are expected to serve as Christian leaders and mentors by effectively living a gospel-centered lifestyle, ministering and discipling through a biblical worldview.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- ServSafe Certification
- Allergen Certification
- 2+ years food service experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong organizational and mathematical skills
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office & Google Docs

Hours:
- Sunday: Rotation
- Monday – Friday: 12:30pm - 8:30pm
- Saturday: Rotation
- When working weekend, days off will be scheduled during the week to prevent overtime.
Pay Rate: $21.50/hour
