Position: Secondary Math & Science Teacher
Location: Merrill Middle/High School
Reports To: Middle/High School Principal

Position Summary:
The Secondary Math & Science Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in both mathematics and science disciplines for middle and/or high school students. This position focuses on building critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical skills, and scientific inquiry through interactive lessons, laboratory experiments, and real-world applications.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must hold a valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate (Grades 6–12 or 7–12) with an endorsement in Mathematics (EX).
- Preferred secondary endorsement in Integrated Science (DI / DR) or a specific science discipline (DA, DC, DE, or DH).
- Additional preferred endorsements in core subject areas are welcome.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and students.
- Must satisfactorily pass all required pre-employment screenings, including:
- Criminal Background Check
- Unprofessional Conduct Background Check (PA 189)
- Personal and Professional Reference Checks
