Position Summary

ImageFIRST is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support its healthcare laundry production facility in Livonia. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and facility systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience working with industrial equipment, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, HVAC, welding, or related systems.

Essential Job Duties

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and equipment problems

• Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical diagrams

• Complete daily maintenance, inspection, and repair logs

• Develop, maintain, and follow standard operating procedures

• Complete and follow Job Safety Analyses

• Communicate equipment concerns and repair updates to production staff and management

• Maintain and secure tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies

• Order replacement parts, tools, and machinery components

• Keep maintenance and production areas clean and organized

• Train employees on equipment or safety procedures when requested

• Follow all company, OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, and workplace-safety procedures

• Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge, education, or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Industrial electrical systems

  • Mechanical systems

  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • PLC programming

  • Plumbing and piping systems

  • HVAC

  • Welding

  • Carpentry

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills

• Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills

• Ability to operate machinery, hand tools, power tools, and computers

• Manual dexterity

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work around industrial equipment

• Ability to maintain regular and dependable attendance

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Technical-school training in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, HVAC, mechanical repair, or a related field preferred

• Previous industrial, manufacturing, plant-maintenance, or machinery-repair experience strongly preferred

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in an industrial laundry and manufacturing environment

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and equipment operation

• Frequent lifting of materials weighing up to 30 pounds

• Exposure to industrial machinery, noise, heat, moving equipment, and production activity

• Required use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and work boots
