Position Summary

The Cable TV Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining cable television and related communication services at customer locations. This role requires excellent technical skills, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to provide outstanding customer service while educating customers about available products and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cable television installations, upgrades, repairs, and service calls at customer residences and businesses.
• Diagnose and resolve service issues using electronic testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Utilize hand tools, ladders, and installation equipment to complete assignments safely and efficiently.
• Work at elevated heights, including climbing ladders and utility poles, while following all safety procedures and wearing required protective equipment.
• Inspect, test, and verify proper operation of cable and communication systems.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding installation procedures, service issues, and available products and services.
• Educate customers on equipment operation, service features, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of completed installations, repairs, and service activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in cable television, telecommunications, broadband installation, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools, testing devices, and electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned service calls effectively.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and utility poles and work at various heights.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools as required.
• Capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

Work Schedule
