Summary
Sets up, performs checks of routine programs, operates milling CNC vertical or horizontal machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations to meet close tolerances and finish requirements. Mounts and secures tooling in magazine or turret; aligns and secures fixtures and work piece and checks to establish reference points. Complete programming at machine using M & G code.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Selects, measures, assembles, and sets machine tooling, such as drill bits, milling or cutting tools, using precision gauges and instruments.
- Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures tools, attachments, fixtures on machine, using hand tools.
- Determines specifications, machine operation, workpiece dimensions, using blueprints, follow standard operating procedures.
- Performs controller programming at machine to position tools (X,Y,Z coordinates).
- Measures dimensions of finished workpiece to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
- Monitors machine operation and control panel displays to detect malfunctions and compare readings to specifications.
- Maintains machine, removes and replaces broken or worn machine tooling, using hand tools.
- Cleans machine, tooling, and parts.
- Report daily production achieved.
- Report Non Conformances.
- Participate in continuous improvement processes and activities.
