Position Summary
Crystal Clean is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Local CDL Class B Box Truck Driver to support environmental service operations throughout the Metro Detroit area. The driver will operate a company box truck, transport materials, complete assigned service routes, maintain accurate records, and assist with loading, unloading, and routine field-service activities.
This position is appropriate for an experienced commercial driver who values safety, reliability, customer service, and consistent weekday hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company box truck throughout the Metro Detroit service area.
- Complete assigned pickup, delivery, and environmental service routes.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in accordance with company and transportation requirements.
- Inspect the vehicle before and after each route and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Verify shipping documents, manifests, bills of lading, route paperwork, and other required records.
- Complete driving logs, inspection reports, service records, and delivery documentation accurately.
- Follow all applicable DOT, federal, state, local, environmental, and company safety regulations.
- Assist with job-site setup, cleanup, equipment handling, and general labor activities when needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle and equipment.
- Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, dispatchers, and branch staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid CDL Class B license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to pass a federal background check.
- No traffic tickets or moving violations within the past five years, subject to employer review.
- Ability to safely perform loading, unloading, and other physical job duties.
- Ability to move or handle heavy materials, including oil-filter totes that may weigh up to approximately 300 pounds, using appropriate equipment, procedures, and assistance.
- Ability to comply with DOT regulations and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Strong attendance, dependability, communication, and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous commercial driving, delivery, waste-service, industrial-service, or environmental-service experience.
- Tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain additional endorsements when required.
- Experience completing manifests, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, or electronic route documentation.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Experience operating material-handling equipment.
