Summary
Provides professional and administrative support to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Michigan Technological University, which includes serving our prospective students and families. Focus areas include application management and processing, administrative support for both on-campus and off-campus staff, and campus collaboration.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
1. Serve as an integral part of the undergraduate application processing team by uploading application materials, releasing admissions decisions, running daily error reports, and running acceptance letters.
2. Manage duplicate applications.
3. Process applications for dual enrollment, non-degree seeking/guest, and post-degree certificates.
4. Commit to continuously improving and thinking of outside-the-box solutions that would improve our admissions process.
5. Manage all admissions admittance and deposit mailing projects for first-year and transfer students.
6. Assist and troubleshoot prospective students' login information.
7. Provide administrative support for financial transactions including check requests, reallocations, purchase requisitions, use charges, invoices and deposits.
8. Answer main admissions phone lines and respond to our general Admissions email.
9. Assist with other Admissions email accounts, as needed.
10. Coordinate the payroll process and EPAF data entry.
11. Maintain inventory of office supplies and assist with supply orders.
12. Assist with the supervision of front desk students and assign them projects as needed.
13. Assist at large-scale on-campus recruitment events.
14. Assist with the logistics of the Michigan Tech College Fair.
15. Interact with administrative units including academic departments, Dean of Students, Financial Aid, Registrars, Payroll Services, and Graduate School.
16. Take an active role in staying current with Michigan Tech news, events, facts, figures, degree programs, and related institutional information.
17. Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives.
18. Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work.
19. Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Certifications, Licensures
* High school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
Required Experience
* 3 years experience in clerical of administrative support.
* 3 years experience using personal computers, basic software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
* 3 years experience in a customer service setting.
Desirable Education and/or Experience
* Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
* Experience working with databases or CRM systems such as Banner, Slate and ticketing software.
* Experience working in high school setting or higher education.
