Product Engineer - Engine Cooling
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Pay: Up to $50.91/hour
Join a leading automotive engineering team as a Product Engineer - Engine Cooling. In this role, you will support the design, development, testing, validation, and launch of vehicle cooling system components, helping ensure performance, reliability, quality, and manufacturability throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and release engine cooling system components, including radiators, condensers, fan assemblies, coolant hoses, pumps, valves, and related systems.
Lead component development activities from concept through production launch.
Coordinate engineering design, CAE analysis, prototype builds, validation testing, and documentation.
Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional engineering groups to meet project milestones and quality standards.
Support vehicle testing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
Drive continuous improvement, product quality enhancements, and cost reduction initiatives.
Ensure designs meet performance, durability, and manufacturing requirements.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in automotive product development, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Experience with engine cooling systems, thermal management, HVAC, heat exchangers, fluid systems, or similar automotive components.
Knowledge of product development, validation testing, and engineering release processes.
Experience with CAD software such as CATIA, Creo, NX, or SolidWorks.
Strong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, or APQP.
Supplier management and vehicle launch experience.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
