Contract Attorney 3+ Years Experience (3+ months) A well-established civil litigation law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its growing defense litigation practice on a contract basis. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators and gain hands-on experience handling a diverse caseload involving premises liability, personal injury, and general liability matters. Requirements/Qualifications: * Active Texas Bar license in good standing. * Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school. * 3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred. * Experience in one or more of the following practice areas is a plus: * General liability * Premises liability * Bodily injury * Product liability * Construction defect litigation * Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. * Experience with depositions, court appearances, motion practice, and discovery. * Mediation and trial experience is beneficial but not required. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard legal technology tools. * Strong organizational, analytical, and client communication skills. * Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently. Professionalism & Ethics * Maintains confidentiality of client and firm information. * Adheres to all professional and ethical obligations applicable to the practice of law. Responsibilities * Manage a billable caseload under attorney supervision. * Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, motions, and written discovery. * Attend hearings, court appearances, and client meetings as needed. * Prepare for, take, and defend depositions. * Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy. * Support mediation and trial preparation efforts. * Work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and legal support staff to achieve favorable case outcomes. Work Environment * Hybrid and remote work arrangement. * Exposure to a broad range of civil defense litigation matters. * Collaborative and team-oriented legal practice.
