Position Summary
The Senior Alliance is seeking an organized and customer-focused Support Specialist to assist older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers with community-service programs.
The Support Specialist screens callers, completes intake activities, helps participants apply for public assistance, verifies Medicaid eligibility, maintains records, and provides administrative support to the Community Care Department.
Responsibilities

Answer calls and screen individuals for appropriate community programs.

Collect and document participant intake information.

Assist with applications for Medicaid, Food Assistance, Section 8 Housing, and other programs.

Verify Medicaid eligibility for Waiver services.

Explain program requirements and required documentation.

Maintain waiting lists and eligibility records.

Enter participant information into agency databases.

Complete word processing, data entry, filing, and administrative duties.

Maintain budget and program records.
-
Protect confidential participant information.

Support Community Care projects and other assigned duties.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

At least two years of experience in customer service, program intake, human services, healthcare administration, public assistance, workforce development, or a related field.

Word-processing and computer experience required.

Recordkeeping and filing experience preferred.

Knowledge of community organizations serving seniors preferred.

Experience with Medicaid, public benefits, or Older Americans Act programs is helpful.
