Beck's Ornamental & Turf Management is seeking a dependable and motivated Turf Specialist to join our team. This position focuses on maintaining healthy, high-quality turf for residential, commercial, and athletic properties. Knowledge of sports turf fields is a plus; however, we are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform turf management services, including fertilization, weed control, aeration, over seeding, and pest management.
- Monitor turf health and identify issues affecting turf quality.
- Assist with the maintenance and care of sports turf fields, parks, and commercial landscapes.
- Operate and maintain turf care equipment safely and efficiently.
- Apply fertilizers and other approved turf treatments according to company standards.
- Assist with irrigation system inspections and adjustments as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of turf treatments and services performed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
Qualifications
Required
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid Chauffeur's License.
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Preferred
- Knowledge of sports turf field maintenance.
- Previous experience in turf management, landscaping, lawn care, or athletic field maintenance.
- Experience operating commercial turf and landscape equipment.
- Pesticide applicator certification (preferred but not required).
Working Conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Seasonal overtime may be required during peak service periods.
- Use of specialized turf care equipment and vehicles.
