The Driver/Operator/Laborer is responsible for transporting loads to the landfill, operating heavy equipment,
performing general maintenance, and assisting customers at the transfer station. This position requires a teamoriented individual with mechanical aptitude and a strong work ethic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Drive and transport loads to the landfill safely and efficiently.
• Operate heavy equipment, including loaders and excavators.
• Perform general mechanical tasks and minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain the tipping floor, ensuring cleanliness and proper waste management.
• Conduct routine maintenance on grounds and buildings.
• Ensure customers properly utilize the transfer station and follow safety guidelines.
• Direct customers to appropriate unloading areas and help as needed.
• Perform various other duties as assigned to support the operations of the transfer station.
Qualifications
License: Valid Michigan Class A CDL (required).
Experience: Prior experience of operating heavy equipment preferred.
Key Skills & Competencies
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform minor repairs.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures.
