Overview
The Nursing Research Program Manager provides strategic leadership for Bronson’s nursing research program. This role supports nurse-led research, evidence-based practice initiatives, and a culture of inquiry across the organization. It aligns nursing research efforts with institutional priorities and ANCC nursing excellence standards. The position reports to the Director of Nursing Professional Practice and works closely with nurse leaders, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen research capacity and promote scholarly excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Research Program Coordination

Support development of research priorities and organizational strategies to build and maintain nursing research infrastructure

Assist with planning and execution of nursing research studies, quality improvement projects, and evidence-based practice initiatives

Develop research protocols, IRB submissions, and regulatory documentation
-
Coordinate logistics for research activities including recruitment, data collection, and reporting
-
Support dissemination of research findings through presentations, posters, and publications

Participate in or lead the Nursing Research Council and other governance councils

Monitor study progress, data integrity, and protocol compliance
Education and Engagement

Mentor nurses on research methodologies, proposal development, IRB processes, data interpretation, and dissemination

Support journal clubs, research workshops, and bedside inquiry initiatives

Develop and deliver educational programs on research, evidence-based practice, and Magnet research standards
-
Promote nurse-led research and scholarly dissemination
Magnet Program Support

Facilitate nursing research activities that support nursing excellence and Magnet designation

Serve as a liaison between nursing leadership, staff, and the Magnet Program Director
-
Assist with preparation and submission of Magnet documentation including empirical outcomes and research reports

Monitor trends and best practices in nursing research and Magnet standards
-
Ensure adherence to Magnet standards, institutional policies, federal regulations, and ethical guidelines
-
Maintain documentation for ongoing and completed studies
Collaboration and Leadership

Partner with nursing leaders, shared governance councils, and interdisciplinary teams to identify and support nurse-led research and evidence-based practice

Participate in strategic planning and operational initiatives related to nursing research

Collaborate with clinical teams on evidence-based practice and quality improvement projects
-
Coordinate communication strategies and events that promote a culture of inquiry

Communicate research progress and outcomes to stakeholders

Collaborate with academic partners when applicable
Qualifications
Required
-
Registered Nurse (RN) with current Michigan licensure
-
Doctorate (PhD or DNP)
-
Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience

Experience with research methodologies, IRB processes, data collection, statistical analysis, research ethics, and quality improvement tools
Preferred
-
Knowledge of Magnet Recognition Program standards
-
Research certification (CCRA, CCRC, CCRP, or ACRP-CP)

Evidence-based practice or quality improvement training

Familiarity with EHR systems and data analytics tools
