Job Title: Welder 1
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
Welder 1 is responsible for using welding equipment to fabricate and weld metal assemblies. A level 1 Welder will be able to weld in the flat position. Welders will understand the MIG welding process. Various hand tools may be required to smooth out imperfections. Welder 1 will adhere to all Bandit safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints or other documents to plan layout, assembly, and operations.
- Knowledge of production processes and other techniques to effectively distribute product/equipment.
- Recognize when there is a problem or issue with a machine and let the appropriate authority know.
- Examine finished product to ensure parts meet specification and quality.
- Able to read weld symbols.
- Operate accessory equipment such as: handheld power tools, IRD balancer, etc.
- Can dial in weld settings and adjust welder accordingly.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure or other shop instruments.
- Ability to do basic shop math.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Complete Bandit’s crane and/or forklift safety training.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, pinch, grasp, and/or bend.
- Requires employee to work both inside/outside in heat/cold, and/or wet/humid conditions.
- Frequently required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injury.
- Frequently lift 50 pounds.
- Occasionally lift 60 pounds.
