Role Summary
The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatments for patients with injuries or conditions affecting muscles, nerves, joints, and bones. The goal is to improve or restore function, increase strength, relieve pain, and enhance independence. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program

Licensed Physical Therapist in good standing in the State of Michigan

BLS required within 3 months of hire

Valid Michigan driver’s license, daily access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance required for Bronson at Home
-
Successful MVR check required prior to start date for Bronson at Home roles

Keyboarding skills to operate a PC or mobile device
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with patients, visitors, and care team members

Social sensitivity and effective communication in English
-
Strong interpersonal skills for delicate patient care situations
Physical Requirements
This role involves standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 20 pounds, and assisting with patient transfers. Work may include computer use up to 40 percent of the time and requires managing multiple deadlines.
Clinical Responsibilities

Interpret and implement referrals

Evaluate functional abilities including range of motion, strength, coordination, and more

Establish functional baselines and treatment goals

Participate in interdisciplinary discussions, rounds, and clinics

Provide patient, family, and community education
-
Conduct individual or group therapy sessions

Design and fabricate splints or assistive devices as needed
-
Contribute to program development and process improvement

Serve as a resource in areas of expertise and provide in-services

Cross-train and provide coverage across Rehabilitation Services as needed
Administrative Responsibilities

Document evaluations, treatment plans, interventions, and progress in the electronic health record within compliance timelines

Communicate any documentation limitations to leadership

Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records
-
Participate in committees, task forces, and process improvement initiatives
-
Demonstrate strong time management skills
-
Provide supervision to PTAs, Rehab Clinical Assistants, PT and PTA students, volunteers, and athletic trainers
