Heavy Vehicle Assembly Technician Military Vehicle Manufacturing Plymouth, MI $24.50 - $32.50/Hour We are hiring a CNC Lathe Machinist II to support precision manufacturing operations by operating, setting up, editing, and troubleshooting CNC lathes used to machine metal components from castings, forgings, and bar stock. This role requires experience with CNC programming, tooling, precision measurement equipment, machining processes, preventive maintenance, and quality standards in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: * Operate CNC lathes to manufacture precision metal components while meeting production, quality, and safety requirements. * Edit CNC programs, including tool registers, offsets, compensation, conditional switches, and program adjustments to optimize machining operations. * Calculate machining requirements using basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry to verify dimensions and machine settings. * Assist with CNC machine setup by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, collets, bushings, tooling, attachments, stock pushers, gears, cams, and related equipment. * Verify machine setups by inspecting first article and production parts using precision measuring instruments and established quality standards. * Perform machining operations including boring, facing, turning, threading, grooving, knurling, drilling, and thread chasing. * Monitor machine performance, detect machining issues, troubleshoot production problems, and adjust machine controls or programs as necessary. * Sharpen, replace, and maintain cutting tools to ensure machining accuracy and production efficiency. * Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic equipment troubleshooting while coordinating repairs when required. * Maintain accurate production records, inspection documentation, and quality logs. * Communicate production status, equipment issues, and shift updates to ensure operational continuity. * Follow all safety procedures, environmental policies, and quality management system requirements. * Continuously improve technical knowledge through training and technical resources while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED equivalent. * Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience, preferably operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment. * Experience editing CNC machine programs, setting tool offsets, compensation, and machine parameters. * Ability to perform machine setup, tooling changes, and workholding installation. * Experience producing precision machined components using turning, facing, boring, threading, grooving, and drilling operations. * Proficiency using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy. * Ability to read work instructions, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation. * Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and machine troubleshooting. * Strong mathematical skills, including basic geometry, trigonometry, ratios, fractions, decimals, and measurement calculations. * Working knowledge of AS9100 quality standards and ISO 14001 environmental requirements. * Ability to follow all PPE requirements, safety procedures, and company policies. * Minimal programming experience * Programs used include Mastercam * Types of CNC machines: Mori and Tsugami Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled Employer.
