What to Expect
Tesla is seeking highly motivated Equipment Maintenance Technicians who will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of our advanced 5 Axis CNC machines, 1000-2500 Ton Hydraulic and Mechanical Presses, and 5 Axis Lasers.
The Equipment Maintenance Technician will apply his/her technical skills to install, maintain and repair high-speed, high-volume mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation, and robotics. They will be the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdowns and recoveries.
Shift: 03:15 PM - 01:45 AM; Monday through Friday
What You'll Do
Perform equipment repairs, rebuilds and installations as well as preventative maintenance (PM) on all industrial production equipment, including 5-axis CNC machines, 1000-2500 ton hydraulic and mechanical presses, and 5-axis lasers
Diagnose equipment failures and their root cause. Communicate required corrective actions across relevant teams
Collaborate with Process and Equipment Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and maintenance protocols
Perform corrective maintenance (repairs) on more than one of these types of equipment: Electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase, mechanical systems, conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics/vacuum Systems, PLC and networks (Allen Bradley/Siemens/Beckhoff), vision/inspection equipment (Keyence/x-ray /surface inspectors), fanuc robots
Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogues and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
Log all work as performed utilizing Tesla CMMS
What You'll Bring
Five (5) or more years of experience working in a maintenance capacity on industrial production manufacturing equipment with 5-axis CNC machines, 1000-2500 ton hydraulic and mechanical presses, and/or 5-axis lasers
Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and implement viable long-term solutions
Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
This is a physically demanding job working in tight spaces, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day. Maintenance Technicians will lift up to 50 lbs. and utilize other hand tools and power tools as needed
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
