Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Masking Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Overview
As a member of the paint team, the masking technician prepares vehicles and parts for painting by protecting key areas from paint. This role also supports painters during the final masking and cleanup process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the vehicle before paint by masking off key areas of the vehicle or part to protect from paint.
- Apply vinyl masks on vehicles or parts for different paint projects.
- Assist painters with the final mask process and remove all tape, paper, and plastic after the vehicle or part is finished being painted.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Some experience in an automotive paint shop or body shop setting preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
- Ability to multi-task while ensuring follow up and execution of required tasks.
- High degree of organization and ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
- Willingness to assist peers, teach and help out, and exude flexibility.
- Some computer experience a plus.
- Ability to lift 5–75 lbs.
- Requires moderate to high level of physical activity.
