The function of the Heavy Duty Ring & Liner Co-Op Engineer is to perform work in support of the Ring & Liner Application Engineering team, including the Measurement, Design, Analysis, Dynamometer and Bench Testing of rings and liners, and to also work on other various projects for the development of new products and technology.Support Piston Rings & Liner Application Engineering:Assist in the design and analysis of pistons rings & linersPerform evaluation and metrology of engine components Manage bench and engine dynamometer testing of new productsCollect, analyze and enter piston, ring, and liner wear dataCommunicate with Application Engineering group to support customer projects and presentationsDevelop power cylinder system knowledge and technical understanding of the ring and liner component groups.Work with Application Engineers to publish technical reports and customer presentations.Final project: complete work on new product/technology development, and/or analytical projectPresent results to Ring & Liner/Piston groups.Provide support for various other Ring and Liner projects as requested by supervisor and/or project champion. REQUIREMENTS:Must be enrolled in a B.S. degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
