Job Description: Design and develop vehicle seating systems that excel in both styling and function. Create industry-leading seating systems that set new benchmarks in safety, comfort, craftsmanship, ergonomics, and functionality. Ensure the successful packaging, integration, and release of advanced seat technologies that meet stringent performance and reliability targets. Work closely with cross-functional teams—including marketing, design, and vehicle engineering—placing a strong emphasis on the overall benefit to the vehicle rather than any individual system. Collaborate with seating suppliers to ensure technical excellence and timely delivery. Develop performance specifications and test protocols for seat attributes such as strength, appearance, durability, and NVH, while employing innovative tools and approaches to support cutting-edge development efforts.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field + five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in automotive seat design.
- Special Skills: This position also requires education or experience in: DFMEA, Six Sigma, and 8 Dimensional analysis for vehicle design; Designing and validating seat structures; Pugh analysis; Seat testing and validation; Creating interface between seats; Tolerance stack-up, seating regulations, Safety layouts; and Drafting and Kinematics.
Salary Range: $147,000 to $180,000 per year.
The compensation range for this position is specific to the location(s) listed in this notice and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position, taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions—including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
