Position Title: Student Support Specialist
Compensation: per FESA contract
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or higher preferred
- High School Diploma
- Substitute Teaching Status
- CPI and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of behavior modification strategies and techniques
- Ability to work on a professional level with administration and school staff
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Confidentiality
Job Duties/Expectations:
- The student support specialist works with students who are dysregulated, need a break, or are creating minor disruptions to the learning environment. Through calming strategies, discussion, and supporting the individual needs of the students, the specialist will assist students in successfully returning to class.
- The student support specialist is responsible for collecting and recording behavioral data from choice room referrals, disciplinary referrals, and student chill passes.
- The student support specialist is responsible for processing and printing reports for the principal regarding attendance, behavior, grades, and student progress.
- The student support specialist will work closely with the principal, student and family liaison, teachers, and support staff to ensure the success of all students.
