Position Summary
Journey to Healing, Inc. is seeking a creative, strategic, and community-focused Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator to strengthen the organization's visibility, brand awareness, and community engagement efforts. This position is responsible for developing and implementing marketing, communications, public relations, and outreach strategies that promote the agency's mental health services, programs, events, and community impact.
The Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator will work closely with leadership, program staff, community partners, and stakeholders to increase awareness of Journey to Healing's mission and services while supporting fundraising, recruitment, advocacy, and community engagement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement marketing and public relations strategies that align with organizational goals
- Create content for social media platforms, newsletters, websites, email campaigns, and promotional materials
- Manage and maintain the organization's social media presence and online engagement
- Coordinate media outreach, press releases, public announcements, and community awareness campaigns
- Develop marketing materials, brochures, flyers, presentations, and promotional resources
- Assist with branding initiatives and ensure consistency across all communications
- Promote agency programs, workshops, support groups, events, and fundraising activities
- Monitor marketing performance metrics and prepare engagement reports
- Capture and share program success stories, testimonials, and community impact highlights
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, media outlets, sponsors, and stakeholders
- Support donor engagement, sponsorship recruitment, and fundraising communications
- Maintain the agency website and assist with content updates
- Coordinate event marketing and community outreach efforts
- Ensure communications are culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and aligned with organizational values
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support agency growth and visibility
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, community outreach, or nonprofit engagement preferred
- Experience managing social media platforms, digital marketing campaigns, and community engagement initiatives preferred
- Experience working within nonprofit, behavioral health, healthcare, education, or community-based organizations preferred
Required Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong content creation, storytelling, and copywriting abilities
- Knowledge of social media management and digital marketing strategies
- Ability to create engaging marketing materials and promotional content
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, and social media platforms
- Experience with website content management systems preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, community engagement, and mental health advocacy
Work Environment
Work may be performed in office, community, event, and virtual settings. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for community events, outreach activities, media opportunities, and fundraising initiatives.
