What to Expect
The Quality Metrology Technician is responsible for ensuring products meet customer and company standards through inspections, data analysis, and adherence to quality processes. The role requires technical expertise in metrology tools, collaboration with teams, adaptability to dynamic projects, and maintaining safety and procedural compliance.
Shift: 02:30PM - 10:30PM; Monday - Friday. Hours may need to be flexible depending on the needs of the business.
What You'll Do
Perform inspections of components, stampings, castings, and supplier parts using CMM, Blue Light scanners, or Laser Radar, and analyze data to generate reports
Ensure quality standards are consistently met and effectively communicated to internal and external teams
Maintain and update inspection programs to align with current part specifications and company requirements
Adhere to company policies, quality assurance processes, and safety protocols at all times
Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally and externally to resolve quality issues and support project goals
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, leveraging diverse skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
Complete additional tasks as assigned by managers or leads, demonstrating flexibility and proactive problem-solving
What You'll Bring
CAD: CATIA or 3D CAD experience preferred
2 or more years' experience in a metrology or quality role operating and programming CMM or Portable CMM, Laser Radar, or Blue light scanner
Experience with at least one Metrology software, PC-DMIS preferred (Polyworks, Calypso, GOM, or Zeis Inspect)
Promote and adhere to all Tesla Policies
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Weekend work required as needed
Ability to travel up to 50%
