Senior Lead Engineer(s) needed to work in Farmington Hills, MI and various and unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. to understand the Mechatronics engineering department project requirements. Create the digital mockup using 3D CAD tools and creating harness schematics and harness layout drawings using CHS (Capital Logic and Capital Harness XC) application. Design automotive electrical wiring harnesses and/or power distribution cables and components. Design brackets for electrical component mounting and harness/cable routing and clipping brackets including stress analysis (FEA). Interact and work with the suppliers for the development of new components. Responsible for the release of vehicle spec/parts, material specifications, CAD, harness schematics and harness layout drawings. Identify and solve the root cause of complex problems. Understand engineering processes & downstream impacts. DFMEA preparation for new parts, design verification and validation using DVPR reports. Bill of materials (BOM) release through IMACS. Manufacturing drawing preparation and part release through Smaragd & ERS+.
Must have a Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any), or a related field, plus two (2) years of automotive engineering experience as a Senior Lead Engineer, Wire Harness Design Manager, Wire Harness Design Engineer, Automotive Engineer, or related position. The two (2) years of automotive engineering experience must include experience with the following: NX Unigraphic, Zuken Harness Design (Layout), and Zuken Cabling Design (Schematics). In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any), or a related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-Bachelor’s Degree automotive engineering experience. Two (2) years of the five (5) years of progressive post-Bachelor's Degree automotive engineering experience must include experience with the following: NX Unigraphic, Zuken Harness Design (Layout), and Zuken Cabling Design (Schematics). All experience may be acquired concurrently. Travel and/or relocation may be required. Frequency of travel approximately 10% per year. International travel is not required.
