Description
Grand Rapids Community College is seeking a Head Men's Soccer Coach to lead all aspects of the men's soccer program in accordance with NJCAA, conference, and GRCC policies. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the coach is responsible for program leadership, recruiting, student-athlete success, game and practice management, compliance, and fundraising activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the men's soccer program
• Ensure compliance with GRCC, conference, and NJCAA rules and regulations
• Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes
• Develop relationships with high school and college coaches for recruiting purposes
• Support academic success and monitor student-athlete progress
• Coordinate recruiting visits, tryouts, and athlete evaluations
• Plan and supervise practices, competitions, travel, and team activities
• Assist student-athletes in transferring to NCAA and NAIA institutions
• Manage program budgets, expenditures, and equipment inventories
• Coordinate schedules, fundraising initiatives, camps, and clinics
• Submit awards nominations and eligibility documentation
• Supervise assistant and volunteer coaches
• Represent GRCC at athletic, conference, and NJCAA events
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and complete required reporting responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate's degree required
• Three or more years of soccer coaching experience
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work with diverse student populations
• Understanding of confidentiality requirements, including FERPA and HIPAA guidelines
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to travel, work evenings and weekends, and attend overnight trips
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Collegiate head coaching experience
• Collegiate recruiting experience
• Knowledge of NJCAA or NCAA eligibility and compliance regulations
• Administrative experience
• NJCAA experience
Work Environment
• Frequent travel for recruiting, practices, and competitions
• Evening and weekend work required

Additional Information
• This is a non-classroom coaching position covered by the Faculty Association collective bargaining agreement
• Only adjunct faculty residing in Michigan may teach or coach for GRCC
