About the Role
Join our Team! The City of Kentwood is seeking an Enrichment Instructor to support our Parks & Recreation Department. In this role, you’ll lead engaging programs and activities that promote learning, creativity, and connection for participants of all ages.
You’ll facilitate a variety of enrichment programs, from poetry, chess, and wellness activities to arts, STEM, and more—while creating a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, sharing knowledge, and making a positive impact in the community.
What You’ll Do
- Lead individuals and groups of all ages through activities, classes, and workshops
- Guide participants through activities in a step-by-step, engaging manner
- Adapt instruction to meet varying ages, skill levels, and abilities
- Encourage participation, skill development, and a positive learning environment
- Set up and clean up program equipment and materials
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants
- Follow department policies and safety protocols
- Provide professional, courteous service to participants and staff

About You
You’re an enthusiastic and dependable instructor who enjoys working with diverse groups and creating engaging experiences. You’re adaptable, patient, and comfortable leading a variety of activities in a dynamic environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience teaching, instructing, or leading activities in a related area
- OR equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
- Ability to lead and engage participants from diverse backgrounds
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, or enrichment topics
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and program procedures
- Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed

- Hourly pay range: $18.00- $25.00, depending on experience
