Now Hiring Transmission Software Engineer
Location: Livonia, MI
Pay Rate: $42.30/hour
Schedule: Hybrid - 4 Days Onsite Per Week
We are seeking an experienced Transmission Software Engineer for a high-impact contract opportunity supporting advanced automatic transmission controls development. This role focuses on software design, testing, validation, and feature ownership within a fast-paced automotive engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage automatic transmission software features using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
* Generate and modify embedded C-code for transmission control systems
* Coordinate software validation activities with HIL and calibration teams
* Develop and execute unit testing to verify software functionality and performance
* Manage software requirements, issue tracking, and release updates using Agile and SDLC processes
* Create technical documentation including test reports, interface specifications, and calibration guides
* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to optimize software performance, testability, and reliability
* Support software quality metrics including decision coverage, MC/DC, and line coverage analysis
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree required
* 4+ years of experience developing automatic transmission controls software
* Strong experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, and embedded C programming
* Knowledge of Agile software development and software testing methodologies
* Experience with software lifecycle tools such as GitHub, ClearCase, or JIRA
* Familiarity with automotive calibration and diagnostic tools preferred
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
