The Advance Group is hiring a 2nd Shift Material Handler / Forklift Operator in Monroe, Michigan for a growing manufacturing facility with long-term opportunities. This hands-on material handling, shipping, and production position combines forklift operation with physical warehouse and manufacturing work.
Candidates should be comfortable with physically demanding work, as forklift operation is only about 20% of the role. If you have experience in manufacturing, shipping, warehouse operations, production, or material handling, this could be an excellent fit.
Material Handler Job Responsibilities
As a 2nd Shift Material Handler in Monroe, MI, you will:
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently throughout the facility
- Receive incoming materials and verify shipping documentation
- Pack out materials from silos according to order specifications
- Perform bulk density testing to meet quality standards
- Stage bag shipments for shipping and distribution
- Notify the Shipping Lead of any non-conforming product
- Pack molded parts according to customer specifications
- Connect long hoses with metal fittings and secure them into place
- Load bead product into semi-trucks for shipment
- Support warehouse, shipping, and production operations as needed
Material Handler & Forklift Requirements
To qualify for this manufacturing and warehouse role, candidates must:
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be willing to train on 1st shift for up to one month
- Be able to read and follow work instructions
- Have good math, written communication, and verbal communication skills
- Be comfortable performing physically demanding work
- Have prior manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or forklift experience preferred
- Maintain strong attendance and reliability
