Mopar Packaging Engineer
Job Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with suppliers to meet our packaging requirements for safely shipping key automotive components such as fascia's, glass, powertrain parts, and trim panels. The ideal candidate will have expertise in packaging design, supply chain management, and problem-solving skills to address non-conformance, track issues, and work with dealers on resolving claims. This position requires an individual who is proactive, collaborative, and committed to quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Packaging Specification Review & Analysis
• Review supplier provided packaging specifications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Mopar packaging standards.
• Analyze packaging layouts, materials, pack quantities, and protection methods.
• Identify errors, gaps, or non compliances and document findings for engineer review.
Vendor Data Validation & Documentation
• Validate packaging drawings, specifications, and data submissions.
• Ensure required documentation is complete, current, and properly stored.
• Prepare comparison summaries, issue logs, and supporting analysis for Packaging Engineers.
Non Conformance & Issue Support
• Assist with tracking packaging non conformances and corrective actions.
• Support damage trend reviews by gathering and organizing data.
• Prepare documentation used by engineers during supplier follow ups.
Testing & Standards Support
• Support documentation of packaging testing and results.
• Confirm test requirements are met and properly recorded.
• Assist with updates to internal packaging reference materials.
Cross Functional Support
• Coordinate with packaging engineers, supply chain, and quality teams on assigned tasks.
• Maintain organized records to support reviews, audits, and reporting.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering (required).
• Foundational understanding of packaging materials, containers, and dunnage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined standards and processes.
• Ability to analyze technical data and document findings clearly.
• Basic proficiency in Excel or similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
• Internship, co op, or early career experience in packaging or manufacturing.
• Exposure to automotive, logistics, or supply chain environments.
• Familiarity with packaging drawings or supplier provided specifications.
• Awareness of packaging test standards (e.g., ISTA) at a conceptual level.

Work Environment
