This position is in Albion, MI and is NOT a remote position.
Do you have a passion for supporting youth and families in crisis? As a Case Manager, you'll play an integral role in ensuring the safe reunification of children and youth with responsible sponsors. In this role, you will work in a shelter environment assisting youth in the reunification process by identifying qualified sponsors and adhering to stringent state and federal guidelines. $21.42/hr
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures that children and youth on assigned caseload receive daily phone calls to approved family, sponsor or other approved contacts (pro- bono attorney, consulates, ORR), adhering to OR Rand/or MDHHS requirements.
Document all phone calls in UC portal and phone logs as needed.
Coordinate video conference with sponsor, family of origin, and remote Case Mangers (if applicable) and document.
May assist in conducting initial intakes for youth and interview regarding potential opportunities for reunification with a qualified sponsor.
May assist in completing required assessments with youth and update in UC Portal to include(Initial Intake, Child Rights, PSA, Grievance Procedures, UC handbook, Orientation Acknowledgment and Legal Lists).
Ensures the case file contains all required documentation.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
GED/High School Diploma required with 2 years of experience working with children and youth and one of those years being in a residential setting. Internship and volunteer hours may be included; or
Associate or some college hours in social service field with 2 years of experience working with children and youth and one being in a shelter setting preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders. Ability to write reports and present information clearly.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain thorough, accurate documentation.
- Cultural Competence: Ability to interact with children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds in a respectful and responsive manner.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to solve problems effectively and proactively seek guidance when needed.

Standard Requirements:
- Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age or older to work directly with youth.
- Background Checks: Must pass criminal background checks (including national fingerprinting), CPS checks, drug testing, and TB screening.
- Immunization: Proof of immunizations (varicella, measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, Tdap, flu) will be required.
- Certifications: Must obtain Managing Aggressive Behavior (NRCYS) and CPR/First Aid certification.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, stoop, squat, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs. for extended periods. Work will also involve sitting for long periods to enter documentation.
