This position is responsible for plant process, equipment and maintenance and plays a key role in optimizing the utilization of resources to achieve strategic goals; champion capital projects, including the coordination of outside contractors; inspect and evaluate plant equipment and establish a preventive maintenance program; serve as the primary source of knowledge for PLC troubleshooting and training; analyze, define, propose and serve as the Project Manager implementing engineered solutions and large scale projects; perform/direct product, process and system audits, design and implement plans and actions to reduce defects and scrap in the foundry through sound engineering solutions; evaluate yield, performance and other statistical data for trends and ensure documentation is maintained.
Position requires a variety of engineering and maintenance work in metal processing foundry, vertical and horizontal molding, sand systems and melt equipment; PLC user interface and HMI design. A sense of urgency and proven ability to engage, train and schedule resources to move initiatives forward to meet expected deadlines and strong communication skills with a proven ability to drive change and knowledge throughout the organization is required. Ensuring manufacturing compliance with work procedures and instructions; and ensuring work complies with environmental, health and safety standards, ISO/TS- 16949, industry specifications, customer requirements and company standards and that thorough documentation is completed to instruct manufacturing personnel is a must.
Required Background:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus ten years in a metal manufacturing environment and a broad and thorough knowledge of metal casting technology processes and manufacturing methods is preferred; substantial related work experience will be considered over degree.
