Under the direct supervision of the administrator and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Ingham Intermediate School District, the Occupational Therapist, Early On shall provide services to children ages birth to three years old with disabilities and their families. The Occupational Therapist, Early On will provide child evaluation, direct and indirect therapy services, family-centered services and collaborative consultation with staff, parents, agency personnel and administrators.
- Provides comprehensive occupational therapy evaluation of children ages birth to three years old referred to Early-On for suspected developmental delays or impairments in: perceptual-fine motor, feeding, oral-motor, self care, sensory processing and self-regulatory skills.
- Serves as a member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team for children ages birth to three years old suspected of having a disability.
- Assists the family in understanding the etiology and physiology of the child’s delay, impairment and/or diagnosed condition. Supports the family by relating this information to the physical and educational needs of the child, and by providing resources to assist the family in addressing the child’s needs.
