- Develop and maintain back-end applications, including APIs and microservices, using languages such as Java, Python, and C++.
- Design, develop, and deliver new code aligning with architecture guidelines for a unified development approach.
- Collaborate with front-end developers and cross-functional teams, including product owners and designers, to integrate user interface elements.
- Manage application deployment, health monitoring, security hardening, and disaster recovery for deployed applications.
- Manage data storage and retrieval by utilizing database technologies like Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB.
- Promote improvements in programming practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Optimize back-end infrastructure and deployment practices to improve application resiliency and reliability.
- Support security practices, including data encryption and anonymization, to safeguard user information.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required.
Experience: 2 or more years of professional experience in backend software engineering with a focus on cloud-native services on GCP or an equivalent cloud platform. Candidates should have experience designing REST and gRPC APIs and a solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline implementation in a GitHub-based workflow.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and Java for backend service development.
- Experience with GCP services including Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud Build, and Cloud Logging.
- Experience with event-driven architecture patterns and message queue systems.
- Ability to design, build, and operate independently deployable microservices.
- Foundational software engineering competency, including memory management, concurrency, and process behavior.
- Experience instrumenting services with OpenTelemetry or equivalent observability frameworks.
- Fluency in GitHub-based collaborative development workflows, including branch strategy and pull requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating with LLM inference APIs or AI engine backends.
- Familiarity with automotive data formats or telematics data structures.
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer certification.
- Familiarity with OpenAPI specification and API gateway patterns on GCP.
- A Certification Program is preferred.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring work in the office 4 days per week.
