Test Engineer - Dynamometer & Emissions Testing
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Pay: Up to $42/hour
We are seeking a skilled Engine Test Engineer to support engine dynamometer testing, emissions testing, and powertrain development projects in Auburn Hills, MI. This temporary engineering role is ideal for candidates with experience in engine testing, data acquisition, controls systems, and vehicle powertrain validation. Recent engineering graduates are encouraged to apply - training is available.
Key Responsibilities
Perform engine dynamometer testing, troubleshooting, and test system support
Analyze test data and resolve instrumentation, engine, and control system issues
Support emissions testing and emission analyzer operation for ICE engines
Work with PLCs, facility controls, data acquisition systems, and dyno control software
Collaborate with Calibration Engineers on test schedules and control strategies
Assist software development teams in improving testing and automation processes
Support testing for internal combustion and battery electric vehicle platforms
Provide technical support for INCA software, hardware, and test systems
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
2+ years of engine testing or dynamometer experience preferred
Knowledge of data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and controls
Experience with Matlab, Python, or engineering analysis tools preferred
Familiarity with ICE or electric vehicle systems is a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environment
