The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union in delivering on its mission, vision, and brand promise by living out core values in every service contact with internal and external members. Essential Duties
- Lead the branch team to maximize productivity, efficiency, and team development
- Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, training, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and work rules
- Provide recommendations regarding compensation, promotion, and disciplinary action
- Oversee branch appearance, facilities, and equipment standards
- Collaborate with Facilities and Marketing teams regarding branch needs
- Maintain availability Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Saturday coverage and additional hours for meetings, education, and training as needed
- Travel as required, including occasional overnight stays
- Successfully obtain Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation through America’s Credit Unions within the first year of service
Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete orientation and cross-training for branch employees
- Ensure staff remain informed on products, services, promotions, and company initiatives
- Conduct branch security training
- Collaborate with Branch Operations Director and HR on hiring, development, performance management, and compensation review
- Develop and manage department budgets
- Monitor industry trends in deposit operations and recommend improvements
- Ensure member requests and complaints are resolved promptly and professionally
- Counsel members regarding financial needs and available services
- Become a subject matter expert in branch software systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve internal and external inquiries
- Participate in continual process improvement initiatives
- Ensure branch balancing procedures are completed daily
- Maintain compliance with BSA, Patriot Act, OFAC, and all company policies
Member Relationship Representative Duties
- Explain products and services to members
- Prepare and process new account documentation
- Oversee the audit process for new accounts
- Prepare adverse action letters when products are denied
General Sales Expectations
- Utilize effective Sales Champion skills and behaviors
- Build relationships with current and prospective members
- Oversee onboarding processes for new members
- Ensure members are fully served
Other Duties
- Answer telephones and member inquiries
- Process mail as required
- Attend educational functions
- Maintain knowledge of credit union products and services
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Expectations
- Strive to exceed credit union, department, and personal goals
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities
- Excellent typing and computer skills including Word and Excel
- High reasoning ability and attention to detail
- Maintain knowledge of credit union philosophy, policies, and procedures
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws governing credit union operations
- Ability to implement procedures efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work overtime, attend meetings, seminars, and travel
- Ability to motivate and influence others while fostering strong professional relationships
- Attain CCUFC certification within 6 months
- Attain State of Michigan Credit Producers License within 6 months
- Apply financial counseling concepts gained through FiCEP training
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move or transport up to 25 pounds
- Ability to remain stationary for 2–4 hours at a time

Education and Experience
- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum one year of management or supervisory experience
- Minimum one year of banking and/or credit union experience
- Three to five years of similar or related experience
- Ability to operate a 10-key calculator and typewriter
- Strong communication skills
- Good working knowledge of credit union products and services
- Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
