Material Area Supervisor - Automotive Manufacturing (Temp)
Location: Warren, MI
Pay: $30.90-$35.90/hour
We are seeking a Material Area Supervisor to support operations within a high-volume automotive stamping plant. This temporary role is responsible for leading hourly production and material handling teams while ensuring safe, efficient material flow throughout the facility.
This position is ideal for candidates with leadership experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehouse operations, or automotive production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise teams responsible for unloading, storing, and delivering materials to production areas
Support press lines, assembly operations, dock activities, and material flow processes
Lead daily operations focused on safety, quality, productivity, and inventory accuracy
Coordinate pallet movement, rack flow, forklifts, and large powered industrial vehicles (PIVs)
Monitor inventory integrity and support continuous improvement initiatives
Develop and support team leaders and hourly employees in a union manufacturing environment
Implement World Class Manufacturing (WCM) processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Maintain positive communication with management and union employees
Qualifications
Previous manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or automotive experience preferred
Automotive or stamping plant experience is a plus
Experience with material handling equipment, forklifts, pallets, or inventory operations preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment
Must be flexible to work any shift, overtime, and weekends as needed
Bachelor's degree not required
