The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its mission, vision, and brand promise by living out core values in every service contact.
Essential Duties
- Lead and develop the Commercial Lending team to achieve performance goals
- Own performance, growth, and risk profile of the commercial portfolio
- Drive sustainable portfolio growth while maintaining asset quality and compliance
- Develop strong business relationships and a healthy loan pipeline
- Serve as a visible ambassador in business and community markets
- Align lending strategies with credit union strategic plan and risk appetite
- Monitor rates, pricing, and market trends for competitiveness
- Maintain vendor relationships and identify operational efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and internal policies
- Travel as needed; in-office role
- Obtain CCUFC certification within first year
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee underwriting, approvals, renewals, and credit monitoring
- Ensure completion of reviews, financial analysis, and risk rating updates
- Monitor DSCR, LTV, concentrations, and portfolio trends
- Identify problem loans and implement mitigation strategies
- Prepare and present reports to leadership, committees, and Board
- Expand member base through relationship development and outreach
- Partner with Marketing on promotions and commercial presence
- Ensure cross-sales and strong member relationships
- Oversee workflows, systems, and vendor coordination
- Support audits, exams, and regulatory compliance
- Develop and manage departmental budget
- Lead product development and process improvements
- Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and succession planning
- Conduct training, onboarding, and development planning
- Maintain ongoing regulatory education and team competency
- Support strategic initiatives and projects
Qualifications and Expectations
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending practices and regulations
- Advanced financial analysis (cash flow, DSCR, LTV, pricing)
- Ability to balance growth with disciplined risk management

- High integrity and commitment to member service
- Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations
- Apply financial counseling concepts through FiCEP
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move or transport up to 25 pounds
- Able to remain stationary for 2–4 hours at a time

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8–10 years of commercial lending, credit analysis, and portfolio management experience
- Prior leadership experience managing high-performing teams
- Demonstrated success in relationship-based business development
- Strong project management skills
