Join Our Team as a Productin Supervisor!
The Production Supervisor serves as the onshift representative of management and plays a critical role in delivering safe, highquality, and efficient manufacturing operations. This position leads production teams in executing the 24-48 hour locked production schedule while balancing safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people performance.
This is a handson leadership role ideal for individuals who enjoy being present on the production floor, making realtime decisions, and developing highperforming teams in a fastpaced industrial environment.
Work Type (Onsite):
This position will be based onsite at our Dexter, MI, facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship.
Shift Timings: This is a second shift position (2:30 pm - 1 am)
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day production activities to ensure adherence to safety standards, work procedures, and production schedules.
Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and support development and training.
Collaborate with quality, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams to address issues and maintain smooth operations.
Enforce workplace safety policies and conduct safety audits or incident investigations as needed.
Track key metrics (e.g., output, downtime, scrap, labor efficiency) and drive corrective actions where needed.
Support and implement continuous improvement efforts using lean manufacturing principles.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, production output, and shift documentation.
Ensure proper handoffs between shifts and communicate daily priorities effectively.
Knowledge/Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
Prior experience in manufacturing leadership or a team lead role.
Strong understanding of production processes, safety, and quality standards.
Effective communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
Lean/Six Sigma experience.
Proficient computer skills, including MRP/ERP and Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills and Abilities:
Proven problem-solving skills and demonstrated decision making skills are required.
Effective interpersonal skills are necessary.
Essential traits for this position are experienced leadership and an innovative approach; a self-starter who enjoys the challenge of implementing continuous improvement activities.
