JOB SUMMARY
Possesses a deep understanding of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to assist business processes and ensure successful outcomes across various departments. Focuses on event evaluation to drive organizational learning using insights gained from events to guide continuous business process improvement. Functions both technically and analytically, partnering with stakeholders at all levels to implement business-aligned solutions. This role requires a strong passion for continuous improvement and organizational learning. Establishes relationships with organizational leadership to analyze human performance events and create actionable plans for improved performance. Communicates complex issues, generates detailed reports, and manages multiple incident evaluations simultaneously with many departments. Promotes a learning-based philosophy to build upon lessons learned through collaboration and facilitation of the After-Action Review Committee.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitates a cross functional team of subject matter experts to review all human-caused outage events and pertinent near misses on the transmission system to ensure consistency in causal and contributing factor identification.
Partners across the organization to integrate human and organizational performance principles into a focused learning strategy, encompassing communication, analysis, and learning from events.
Tracks and trends event performance data to identify, promote and communicate opportunities to strengthen human and organizational performance.
Monitors and tracks recommended improvement actions for timely completion and sustainable integration into processes, work methods, departments or workgroups.
Investigates, researches and makes recommendations on best practices related to human and organizational performance.
Develops and delivers training on error-reduction tools and implements event-free performance improvement strategies for employees and contractors.
Provides coaching to employees and training coordinators to reinforce Human and Organizational Performance principles and practices.
Facilitates Human and Organizational Performance training sessions and workshops across the organization and delivers learning-focused communication to support organization al awareness.
Reviews procedures to identify performance gaps and recommends process or procedural improvements to enhance reliability and human performance.
Establishes and manages partnerships with external organizations, including industry and professional groups to access additional expertise, share best practices, and participate in collaborative research or benchmarking initiatives related to Human and Organizational Performance.
Recognized as an organizational subject matter expert applying specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise to interpret internal or external business issues and recommend effective solutions and best practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration , Psychology, Emergency Management, Engineering, Organizational Management or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in utility operations, manufacturing or process operations; electric transmission experience preferred.
Previous experience with incident investigation and event learning.
The ideal candidate shall possess an understanding of Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.
Ability to draft reports and effectively communicate event analysis findings.
Experience in course instruction and/or teaching preferred.
Ability to perform in-field observations.
Understanding of utility industry practices for Field Operations, Resource Management, or Technology.
Experience implementing or managing an operational management system. Example: Safety Management System, Manufacturing Production System.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to facilitate collaborative problem-solving efforts and navigate team conflicts.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation software; Power BI experience is a plus.
Experience with data analytics, identifying and communicating trends, utilizing tools such as PowerBI or similar.
Experience with AI for process improvement, insight, and awareness. experience in organizational culture or safety culture assessment is a plus.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Valid driver's license required .
Willingness and ability to travel required .
Flexibility to provide 24/7 support to respond to and manage emergency situations.
